Create Composite Metrics

Concept

Composite metrics are calculated around multiple metrics (atomic metrics, composite metrics) through addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations. The calculation relationship between different metrics can be customized according to business needs. For example, Channel A Sales Proportion = Channel A Sales / (Channel A Sales + Channel B Sales) or Channel A Sales / Total Sales.

Operation Steps

  1. Select "Metric Center > Metric Topic" in the navigation bar, click the "New Metric" button, and select "Composite Metric".

  2. In the "New Composite Metric" dialog, set the basic properties, calculation properties, and management properties of the composite metric.

ParameterDescription
NameSet the Chinese name of the metric, which cannot be repeated under one topic.
English NameSet the English name of the metric, which cannot be repeated under one topic.
Business PropertiesFill in the business caliber and the indicator attributes defined by the administrator. For metric attribute management, see Metric Attribute Management.
Calculation FormulaPerform composite calculations based on metrics under the current topic in the editor.
Note: Only supports calculations on numeric metrics.
Data FormatSet the display format of the metric result.
Applicable DimensionsControl the dimensions that can be associated with the composite metric.

When "Use the common dimensions of metrics in the expression" is checked, the common dimensions of each metric in the calculation formula are automatically taken; when not checked, the applicable dimensions can be manually selected. Default is all selected, and the candidate items are the union of the dimensions of each metric in the calculation formula.

After modifying the calculation formula, if it was manually selected before, the system will retain the dimensions that still exist in the new candidate items, and the non-existent dimensions will be removed.
Business CaliberMaintain the business meaning of the metric to facilitate subsequent metric applications.
Save LocationSet the save location of the metric.
OwnerThe interpreter of the business caliber, responsible for the rationality and accuracy of the business caliber.
