DecideX Quick Start Guide
Workflow
Producers prepare data and capabilities, configure and test agents, then publish them and grant access. Consumers use these agents to complete business tasks. These are usage responsibilities, not system permission roles. One person can perform both.
If an agent is already available, go directly to Consumer: Complete a Business Task. See Product Overview for the product's purpose and Home Workspace for entry points.
Prerequisites
Guandata BI 8.2 or later is required to use BI data and related capabilities.
Sign in to DecideX and confirm the current organization. Producers should define the intended users, business questions, data scope, and output requirements, and have the required creation, editing, and data permissions. Consumers need access to the target agent and, when using business data, the relevant data permissions.
Producer: Prepare and Deliver Capabilities
Step 1: Prepare Data and Business Definitions
For BI data, use the organization BI environment configured by the administrator. No separate connection is needed. Confirm that you have access to the target data in BI. If the organization environment is not configured, ask an administrator to complete System Integrations. Configure Plugin Connections only for test environments, personal environments, or other external services. Create a Business Ontology when you need shared terminology, metrics, or object relationships. An ontology is not required for every task.
Step 2: Create or Reuse an Agent
Create an agent from Agents and enter its name, description, and role instructions. Alternatively, get a template from the marketplace and adapt it to your business. See Create and Manage Agents.
Step 3: Configure Capabilities and the Conversation Experience
Add BI assets, a business ontology, knowledge, reference materials, skills, and tools as needed. Set a welcome message, suggested questions, and default model. Configure only what the task requires. See Configure Agents.
Step 4: Validate and Publish
Test the draft with typical questions. Check the data scope, business definitions, and results. For repeatable testing, create fixed evaluation cases. Publish the changes after validation.
See Test, Publish, and Manage Access and Agent Evaluation.
Step 5: Grant Access and Deliver
Set the usage scope in Publishing Permissions and add collaborators if needed. Publishing content and granting access are separate operations. See Usage Permissions and Collaboration.
Ask users to follow Complete Your First Agent Analysis to verify access and response quality. For third-party applications, configure and verify access as described in Channels.
Consumer: Complete a Business Task
Step 1: Select an Agent
Select Chat on the home page. Click the agent name in the input box and choose an assistant suited to your task. You can also open an existing agent from Agents in the left navigation.
See Start a Conversation.
Step 2: Ask a Question
Specify what to analyze, the time range, and the expected result. For example: “Using this sales table, summarize sales by channel and list the three channels with the largest declines.”
Add files or select authorized assets from the organization BI environment, then send the question. A separate BI connection is not required. Configure another connection only for test environments, personal environments, or other external services. See Add Materials and Configure Conversation Capabilities for files, @ references, and skills.
Step 3: Check the Results
Verify the time range, calculation definitions, and data sources. Expand Work Trace to inspect execution. For generated reports and other files, open Resources in the upper-right corner to view deliverables.
See Review Responses and Continue Analysis and Manage Conversation Files and Sharing.
Step 4: Follow Up or Share
Add conditions in the same conversation, for example: “Explain the main reasons for the decline and recommend actions.” Before sharing a conversation, check that its content is suitable for the intended audience.
