Usage FAQ

Can I Use an Agent Without an Ontology?

Yes. Agents can analyze bound datasets or dashboards directly. Where Metrics Center is enabled, they can also use bound metric topics.

For complex definitions, relationships or analysis across multiple objects, risk assessment, and performance reviews, create and bind an ontology to improve consistency and business readability.

How Does an Ontology Help Analysis?

An ontology helps an agent interpret the business meaning of a question. For example: “Are any key products at risk recently?”

If the ontology defines a product object, a sales-decline risk, replenishment/promotion/pricing actions, and a product-performance scenario, the agent can analyze that context instead of only querying data or matching keywords.

Why Can I See an Agent but Not Edit It?

Visibility and editing are separate permissions. Shared or organization-management-visible cards may offer only chat or viewing. Contact the owner to confirm management or collaboration access.

What If a BI Connection Expires?

Identify the connection type:

  • Organization connection: Ask an administrator to inspect application credentials in system integrations, test, and update them if needed. See Maintain Credentials. Members do not need personal connections. If the connection works but a resource is unavailable, check your BI permissions.
  • Personal connection: For test or personal environments, open Explore and find Guandata BI under the connector area in Recommended or Plugins. Manage connections, validate status, and reauthorize expired credentials. See Personal BI Connections.

Why Is There No New Response When a Scheduled Task Is Active?

An active task card means its schedule is enabled, not that an execution is currently running. Check the next-run time and execution history. Run it immediately to verify, then view the response in its conversation after completion. See Run Manually and View Results.
