Product Versions and Service Lifecycle

Guandata BI Version Numbering

Starting from January 1, 2024, Guandata will strictly follow global software lifecycle management norms and standards. Guandata BI uses a three-part version numbering scheme:

  • First version number: defined at the level of company product strategy. An increase of +1 indicates a strategic upgrade of the product line, which is generally released once a year.
  • Second version number: increments from 0. An increase of +1 indicates a major release that improves customer value or product capabilities, usually one release per quarter.
  • Third version number: increments from 0. An increase of +1 mainly serves planned iterations of key features and responses to temporary or urgent customer needs. It is added on demand, generally once per month, although holidays and other special circumstances may lead to adjustments.

  • To maximize product stability, availability, and upgrade flexibility for customers, after version 5.9.0 we will maintain at most the latest release of the three most recent major versions, as well as the two most recent quarterly releases of the latest major version.
  • End-of-service versions (EOS versions) will be announced in advance through public channels such as the official website so customers can review and confirm them. After EOS takes effect, dedicated product operations support and patch development for that version will no longer be provided. Frontline teams should notify the customer project contact or system administrator and urge the customer to upgrade.

Scope of Service Support

In accordance with global software lifecycle management norms and standards, we continue to provide services such as new features, bug fixes, and security patches during the product service lifecycle. According to industry best practices and standards, EOS (End of Service) means that the version will no longer receive support for feature updates, bug fixes, or security patches, and related support materials will no longer be updated, including help documentation on the official website and other online support resources. In addition, we will stop custom development and technical fixes for that version. At the same time, ongoing operations services and after-sales support already in service will continue as normal.
