Permission Management
Overview
Feature Description
Enterprises need to protect sensitive data and ensure that only authorized users can access it. For example, data across departments may need to be isolated to prevent leakage or misuse, project teams may need access only to their own analysis boards, and completed analysis results may need to be shared only with specific colleagues or managers.
From both internal-audit and external-compliance perspectives, assigning the right permissions to each board is an important part of data governance.
Usage Guide
There are three common entry points for Dashboard permission configuration:
Entry 1: In the upper-right corner of the Dashboard page, choose More > Permission Management.
Entry 2: In the upper-right corner of the page, choose Grid Menu > Admin Settings > Permission Management > Resource Permission Management.
Entry 3: In the left-side Dashboard directory, hover over a page and choose More > Permission Management.
Add Permissions
Click More on the right side of the page and select Permission Management.

Configure Permissions
Add visitors or owners. For more advanced permission settings, see Resource Permission Management.
- Owners can access and edit the Dashboard, including layout, style, and card configuration.
- Visitors can view the Dashboard and perform interactive analysis such as Card Selector, Drill, and filtering, but cannot edit the page.

You can also enable Inherit from Parent to apply the preset permissions from the parent folder's batch authorization rules to the current resource. For details, see Batch Authorization.
Copy Permissions
Guandata BI also supports copying resource permissions. In the permission-management dialog of a Dashboard or dataset, you can copy the permission settings from one resource to another.
After opening the permission-management dialog, click Copy, choose one or more target resources in the new dialog, and then append the current resource's permission rules to those targets.
