Batch Authorization

1. Overview of Batch Authorization

Batch authorization is an operation for unified management of various scattered data resources.

A large number of dashboards or datasets are categorized into different folders. The resources in the same folder are usually accessed by the same group of users. To facilitate permission management, we provide batch authorization operations based on folders, which can achieve:

  • For dashboards/datasets in the same folder, after setting the batch authorization list on the folder, it will take effect for all resources in the folder.

  • If some dashboards/datasets have special requirements and need to be controlled individually, you can choose not to inherit the batch authorization list from the parent folder.

Currently, only dashboards, data screens, and datasets support batch authorization. If you have more related needs, please contact the relevant personnel for feedback.

2. Entry

Entry 1: For dashboards, data screens, and datasets, select a folder to perform batch authorization.

Click to enter the batch authorization settings window:

|450

The owner of the folder can make relevant settings; users of the folder can view the batch authorization list but cannot modify it.

Entry 2: Management Center > Resource Management > Resource Permission Management, select a folder to perform batch authorization.

3. Effectiveness of Batch Authorization

In the permission management window of dashboards/data screens/datasets, there is a setting for whether to "inherit from parent".

In Management Center > Resource Management > Resource Permission Management, you can also set whether to "inherit from parent" for each page.

4. Special Notes

(1) Permissions should be revoked from where they were granted. Therefore, if user A obtained permission for a dashboard/data screen/dataset through batch authorization, the corresponding permission must also be revoked in batch authorization, not directly on the dashboard/data screen/dataset.

(2) Inheriting the batch authorization settings from the parent folder means inheriting from the nearest parent folder. For example, if there is a subfolder "F2 East China Sales Group" under the folder "F1 Sales Department", and there is a dashboard "P3 East China Target Achievement" under the subfolder, then

case 1: F1 has batch authorization set, F2 does not, and P3 chooses "inherit from parent", it inherits the batch authorization from F1.

case 2: Both F1 and F2 have batch authorization set, and P3 chooses "inherit from parent", it inherits the batch authorization from F2.
